Request
Can you please look at [1] it is not free and I put it up for nomination a while ago, and nothing came of it, it is 100% not free per my comment on Commons:Deletion requests/File:Liv Morgan CJ.jpg. Lemonademan22 (talk) 13:12, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
Done OK, deleted. Yann (talk) 14:51, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- I hate to beg but these two this and this too per my comment on Commons:Deletion requests/File:Stephanie vaquer.jpg and Commons:Deletion requests/File:Tatum Paxley.jpg, respectivley. Lemonademan22 (talk) 16:54, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Lemonademan22: If the files are obvious copyright violations, like in this case, just tag them for speedy deletion. Thanks, Yann (talk) 17:12, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- I have never done that before, how would I do that as opposed to nominating them for deletion? Lemonademan22 (talk) 15:54, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Lemonademan22: Please see Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion. If there are many files by the same user, you can use Help:VFC. Yann (talk) 15:58, 10 November 2025 (UTC)

Contesting closure
Just now you have closed the deletion nomination which I opened here by invoking "no significant doubt about publication"? The only source we have about the provenance of the painting is that it was made and given to a nurse at the Bethlem Hospital, which was then kept in the hospital. The hospital only opened its museum in 1967, which is the earliest year of publication. I thus believe this shows significant enough doubt that the painting was publicly displayed before 1930. I noticed you deleted this for copyvio, but it's been re-created almost instantly by the same user... Danners430 (talk) 11:35, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
Done File deleted, user blocked. Yann (talk) 14:30, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
Eurotunnel imagery
You deleted the Eurotunnel loco images that I nominated quite fast... And yes, normally I would have chosen a speedy (the situation is clear enough), but I had the hope that during a DR, the Getlink operator would have spoken up, to guide them through the needed licensing clarifications. Let's hope that some guy is still interested in the Getlink account and actually goes to VRT. The media were IMHO valuable; I left them a message on their talk page below your copyvio warning, maybe that'll help. Regards, Grand-Duc (talk) 14:04, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Grand-Duc: Hi, Honestly, I doubt Eurotunnel would license anything under a free license. Anyway, it would take time. The files can be undeleted if ever a permission arrives. Yann (talk) 14:32, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- I know. :-) And I had at least another occasion to retrain my French, as it's long ago that I had to use it as tool for daily communications and not only for reading (a quarter of a century, in fact), so, it'll net my a positive in any way - and making me more able to help my son for his French school lessons. Hello ! Anonym, without understanding the issue, nominated the monument for removal due to FOP. However, the monument is located in Armenia, and all FOP requirements are met on its territory
Could you summarize the situation? Well-read MountainMan (talk) 18:29, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
March 28, 1986 Scorer's Report Request
Thank you for the restoration. Are you aware that there is a second file attached to the scorer's report data for the game? - Brutal Reply (talk) 23:49, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Brutal Reply: Hi, I undeleted all files. Next time, please do not forget to add the source, the author, and the license. Yann (talk) 05:32, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
Request by Bdblakley29
Hey User:Yann, It's been a while. I want to Preface this with an apology, when we last spoke I treated you rather rudely, even though you were only doing what was best for Wikipedia, and I apologize. I was hoping that I could possibly earn back the ability to upload images to this site. If you remember back in June, you stated that "You will unblocked when you have fixed all your files (either tagged for deletion, or provided proper source, date, author, and license), and if and when you demonstrated an understanding of Commons policies, and a willingness to follow them. " which I accomplished and I was hoping that you would possibly consider unbanning me. Have a good day! Bdblakley29 (talk) 23:11, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Bdblakley29: Hi, Sorry, I was busy. You still have files with the wrong license. {{PD-author}} means that the author releases the document into the public domain. That's obviously not the case for some files. For images from the Smithsonian Institute, you have to provide the source. This is the case for all files, e.g. File:Clinton on his birthday.jpg, File:Union soldier Lewis F. Roe in Galesburg, Illinois.png, etc. You can be unblocked when this is fixed. Yann (talk) 12:25, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Yann: Hi Yann, just got done redoing the citations on every image I uploaded between May 3 to June 22, 2025. Including proper sources and proper license. Bdblakley29 (talk) 01:06, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
Do you think this has a chance of passing at FPC? I'm on the fence myself. JayCubby (talk) 16:40, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- @JayCubby: Hi, The resolution and quality are not IMO good enough. Also it is not significant enough on historical POV. Yann (talk) 16:44, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks a ton. Maybe someday the LoC will rescan their b&w copies. JayCubby (talk) 16:45, 21 November 2025 (UTC)

Question on file
Hello, why was this logo deleted: File:Logo of HSD-SMS.jpg? Thank you. ThecentreCZ (talk) 19:04, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
- @ThecentreCZ: It was tagged as a complex design. Yann (talk) 19:05, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
- Not a complex design it was derivate coat of arms File:Znak Moravy.svg as PD-CzechGov for sure. ThecentreCZ (talk) 19:19, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
- @ThecentreCZ: OK, I undeleted it and fixed the license. Sorry for the inconvenience. Yann (talk) 19:21, 22 November 2025 (UTC)

Uploads by User:Fkhuong
Hi Yann. Would you mind taking a look at some of the files uploaded by Fkhuong They go back as far as 2007 and include some uploaded quite recently. Almost all of them are claimed as "own work", even though most seem not to be. File:Khuong Medals.jpg, for example, is clearly a photo taken using an iPhone of another photo taken in the 1960s or 1970s, which obviously couldn't have been taken with an iPhone. Some of these might be old enough to be relicensed as PD for one reason or another per COM:Vietnam (though I'm not sure how South Vietnamese works are treated by Vietnam's copyright laws), but the URAA date could make things complicated. The EXIF data for the most recent uploads indicates they likely come from some Facebook account, but I can find exactly which one to check to see whether they've been released under acceptable licenses. FWIW, I only stumble upon these becase the same use uploaded several files locally to English Wikipedia without any copyright licenses or source information. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:25, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly: Hi, I warned this user, and nominated most files for deletion: Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Fkhuong. Yann (talk) 08:20, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking a look at these. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:58, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
Question
Hello I do not understand what the problem from your message is, may you explain please? TheEconomizer67 (talk) 21:56, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
- @TheEconomizer67: Hi, Do not copy files from the Internet, unless you have a written permission for a free license from the copyright holder. Anyway, please provide the complete source for your files. Thanks, Yann (talk) 07:36, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
Copywright infringement was not done
Yann, The belief that there was copyright infringement on the post for Lawrence Maynard by user SingDuall is not justified. All the information is original source data from the author, so cannot infringe on a copyright.
Please rescind the removal of the post. Thank you. SingDuall (talk) 14:32, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- @SingDuall: Which author? Anyway your files are out of scope. Please read that page, and do not upload any more such files, or you will be blocked. Thanks, Yann (talk) 15:08, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you Yann for your quick response.
- The author is Lawrence E Maynard.
- I read the out of scope information.
- My post qualifies as educational material as it provides information to readers about the author of books available on the market.
- I believe my item Singular Dualiity was deleted under CSD U3 in error.
- The book has a verified Bowker ISBN (979-8-9935907-0-7), is listed on Amazon and Goodreads, and meets the creative work notability requirements at Wikidata:Notability.
- I can provide structured sources:
- ISBN via Bowker (official registration) 979-8-9935907-0-7
- Amazon link (sales page) https://www.amazon.com/Singular-Dualiity-Lawrence-Maynard/dp/1980399247
- Goodreads listing (reader community reference) https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/194666537?ref=nav_mybooks
- I would like to request restoration so I can reformat the item properly with external identifiers.
- Thank you for your time and help. SingDuall (talk) 16:22, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- @SingDuall: Then Lawrence E. Maynard must send a permission for a free license via COM:VRT. The file will be undeleted if and when the permission is validated by one of the volunteer agent. Yann (talk) 16:24, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
Please undelete
